The Benefits of Feeding Your Dog Chicken Gizzards

Chicken Gizzards can be purchased at your local supermarket or from your local butcher.  They are inexpensive and often sold combined with chicken hearts.  These are both highly nutritious organs offering many benefits for cats and dogs - both can be fed cooked, lightly cooked or raw (we prefer to feed them raw).

 

Chicken gizzard lining is frequently used today in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicines) - known as Ji Nei Jin and has been used for nearly 2,000 years and highly prized for its medicinal properties and considered as precious as gold. Today, chicken gizzards are often discarded due to their tough inner lining.

 

The chicken gizzard lining can improve digestion, and significantly enhance the gastric motility.  In vitro tests proved that it could inhibit tumor cells.  May strengthen the bladder sphincter contraction, reduce urine output, and increase awareness.  Its main uses are for indigestion, food stagnation, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, frequent urination, urinary stones and gallstones and ulcerative gingivitis.
